King George Square

King George Square

Watkins Steel was contracted by Kane Constructions in late 2008 to manufacture, coat, and erect a large structural steel frame to shade the upper floor balcony area at King George Square. The in-house drafting team provided shop drawings to the in-house production team, who processed parts of the steel and performed all steel fabrication. Watkins Steel also worked in collaboration with engineers to prop the car park to enable the crane access on site. All steelwork was delivered on time and to the approved shop drawings. During the steel installation phase, Watkins Steel worked with third party riggers to erect the structural steel frame.
