With our expertise in manufacturing and fabricating a diverse range of structural steel and metalwork structures, Watkins Steel employs lean manufacturing practices, enhancing efficiencies and reducing waste in our purpose-built 3500 m² factory. Our comprehensive production capabilities include:
- Handling capacity of over 200 tonnes of steel per month
- Skilled staff members proficient in both factory and on-site work
- A fleet of vehicles, including eleven utes, crane trucks, two-tonne trucks, five-tonne trucks, semi-trailers, along with forklifts for streamlined material handling
- Overhead cranes with a height under the hook of 7m, ensuring precise and efficient material movement
- Robotic Beam Coping Machine and Robotic Beam Drill & Band Saw for advanced fabrication processes
- Equipment such as Punch & Shears, Bandsaws, and Cold Saws to facilitate precise cutting and shaping
- A capacity of over 2500 man-hours per week, ensuring timely project completion
- In-house riggers and dogmen for safe and efficient handling and installation of fabricated steel structures
Aluminium & Stainless Steel
Watkins Steel now offers comprehensive services in stainless steel and aluminium fabrication. Our skilled team specialises in producing a wide array of high-quality components, all currently welded by hand at our Depot Street facility. While our current volume makes robotic welding impractical, we are equipped to scale up for larger projects as needed.
